Valentine’s Day weekend in Scottsdale, Arizona couldn’t have been more perfect for Ethan and Melissa’s proposal at the beautiful Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia.
Overlooking Camelback Mountain, this custom-designed proposal setup combined desert views, glowing candles, and handcrafted floral arches to create an unforgettable moment for these two high school sweethearts.
Designing a Custom Proposal at Omni Montelucia
For this proposal, we created a fully custom setup in the plaza overlooking Camelback Mountain at the Omni Montelucia.
Our team built two large floral arches filled with white roses and greenery to frame the proposal space. The arches created a romantic aisle surrounded by:
soft candlelight
hundreds of rose petals
desert mountain views
warm golden sunset light
The goal was to create something that felt intimate, elegant, and completely private.
Ethan and Melissa have been together for nearly a decade.
Friends joke that they’re already the “mom and dad” of the group because they’ve been together so long — and now it’s finally official.
After 10 years together, Ethan was ready to make the moment unforgettable.
Ethan and Melissa arrived about ten minutes early, which meant the final touches were happening fast I had just finished:
turning on the candles
scattering the last rose petals
making sure everything looked perfect
Right as they reached the bottom of the staircase leading into the plaza. That’s when I snapped one of my favorite photos of the day — the quiet moment just before everything changed.
As Melissa walked into the plaza and up the stairs, she was greeted with the full setup — the arches, candles, and the mountain glowing in the background.
Ethan walked her down the white rose-petal covered path, turned toward her, and got down on one knee. Moments like this are why I love what I do. 🥹
We then had a lovely photoshoot while my free labor (aka husband) cleaned up my mess.
